Description:

Walk around Migmón Fault, a place full of legends, and one of the best kept treasures in the Central Catalonia Geopark.

The circular tour of this activity will take us to La Mura Viewpoint, where we will be able to enjoy one of Súria's most beautiful panoramic views. Then we will go downstairs up to the Cardener river, proven engines for the textile industry growth in 19th and 20th centuries. Along the riverside, in the trees shade at the bottom of Poble Vell's imposing silhouette, we will discover what happened some 35 years ago to the sea, which at those times covered the current mining town of Súria. In our way back to the 10th century medieval castle (visit not included), we will observe Migmón anticline fault, the surrounding geological formations, and from the top of the mountain, we will enjoy tghe panoramic views of Súria's orchards and the meander of the Cardener river.

The visit includes a small breakfast/snack with typical products of the village (Dry pastry Falletes de Migmón & Chocolate bars Rajoles de Súria).

Purpose of activity:

1. Learn about geology and how it was Súria and Central Catalonia some 35 million years ago.

2. Discover the significance of Súria's geological formation from in its medieval origins within a bordering territory, as well as up to in its economy based on the salt, potash and gypsum mining.

No walking off the beaten track.

No damage outcrops.
Do not collect rock samples unless the guide indicates to do it.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Water, food, hat, sunscreen, appropriate clothing, confortable footwear to walk in the forest and on rocks. Bring medication if need it (allergies, etc.).
